Going from LPR to CUPS on RedHat 7.2

As in the subject line, I have RedHat 7.2 distro installed. By default,
printing is handled by LPR. For reasons of a new printer I bought today
(Yea!) I want to go to CUPS. This is a first step to getting GIMP-PRINT
working, which supports my new printer (Yea!).

I have downloaded the CUPS source. So, how do I remove LPR and install CUPS?
