Howard, with Redhat 7.1 I find:
# find / | grep qla2x
/usr/src/linux-2.4.3/drivers/scsi/README.qla2x00
/usr/src/linux-2.4.3/drivers/scsi/qla2x00.c
/usr/src/linux-2.4.3/drivers/scsi/qla2x00.h
/usr/src/linux-2.4.3/drivers/scsi/qla2x00ioctl.c
/usr/src/linux-2.4.3/drivers/scsi/qla2x00.o
/usr/src/linux-2.4.3/drivers/scsi/.qla2x00.o.flags
qla2x00 is the module I'm using. I installed kernel-source-2.4.3-12 to
get happy ReiserFS. I don't recall any extra gyrations to get qla2x00 to
build but it's been awhile. It's a pretty spiffy adapter except for
some (apparently) cosmetic errors that show up periodically in syslog:
Jan 14 16:10:07 xxx kernel: scsi(0): LIP reset occurred
Jan 14 16:10:08 xxx kernel: scsi(0): LIP occurred.
Jan 14 16:10:08 xxx kernel: scsi(0): Waiting for LIP to complete...
Jan 14 16:10:09 xxx kernel: scsi(0): Waiting for LIP to complete...
Jan 14 16:10:20 xxx kernel: scsi(0): LIP reset occurred
Jan 14 16:10:20 xxx kernel: scsi(0): LIP occurred.
Jan 14 16:10:21 xxx kernel: scsi(0): Waiting for LIP to complete...
Jan 14 16:10:40 xxx kernel: scsi(0): LIP reset occurred
Jan 14 16:10:40 xxx kernel: scsi(0): LIP occurred.
Jan 14 16:10:44 xxx kernel: scsi(0): Waiting for LIP to complete...
The friendly/helpful Compaq sales engineer was going to get back to me
"real soon" with information about it but it hasn't caused problems
yet. "Real soon" is going on about 4 months now so I'm not holding my
breath :-P
HTH; good luck; lemme know how it comes out
