Qwest ready to sell customer information

About 800,000 Qwest customers in Arizona have 30 days to stop the company from distributing information about their accounts to affiliates and outside companies.
A federal court ruling in 1999 gives the company the right to use the data, unless customers specifically request that it be kept private. Such information could include details about service plans as well as billing and calling records.
Hammack said the company does not plan to begin distributing the data for at least 30 days and has set up a toll free number for consumers to call to request their data be kept private. The number is 1-877-628-3732
