Majorly late reply,
twas not my point to go on about compliant and non compliant coders.
The point being made was the fact that Linux is and has been supporting =
test processors thus being onestep ahead of M$ I think when thought =
about is actually more ammo in the Linux Camp.
But still if thow lives with M$ thee may not see it in that light.

There has been some rift between Intel and MS over the past
five years regarding archetecture. Of course the hardware guys=20
want to give the optimum capacity to their products. However the=20
software developers are barely compliant with 32 bit=20
archetecture. It will take something more than some guys and=20
10,000 monkeys hammering out code 24/7/365 to keep up with the =
hardware.
Running 32 bit programs on a 64 bit archetecture does nothing.

64bit Intel CPU
AMD Apparently are calling theirs=20
Claw Hammer ( Workstation CPU ) & Sledge Hammer ( Server CPU )=20
both AMD's are commonly known as the X86-64=20
I spoke to an AMD bod at the Linux 2001 show in London he said that =
he and a few of the other guys at AMD were working alongside the x86-64 =
project closely and with SuSE.de as most of the developers in the =
project were from SuSE Linux.
Rudiger MD of Suse de had other interesting things to say about it.
