X fonts

does anyone know where the "-misc-fixed-*" font set should be untarred to?

I was getting font errors when I load up Konsole in KDE, I found the fonts it was trying to look for, but when I downloaded the tar ball it just has the fonts in it, but doesn't say where they should be copied to.

Anyone know? Or does anyone know a good package I can download to update all of my X11 font libraries?
