I have an AMD Athlon 1GHz on the way with 256MB RAM. Here's what I'd
like to do:

I want to be able to install Mandrake 8.1 as the base OS and run
win2k in VMWare. the CPU should be fast enough, more ram is cheap
enough to get another stick. The issues I would like to find out are
as follows.

I use Win2K for all my daily stuff (I know linux has tons of apps,
but I'm not ready to migrate my desktop fully), my concern is my
peripherals and sound. Inside of VMWare running 2k will I be able to
hear my sound (mp3,dvd, etc), use my handspring, webcam, WinTV Card
seamlessly or is this beyond the abilities of VMWare. Should I just
use win2k natively and put MDK 8.1 in VMWare. I use my 7.2 box
through exceed all the time. just not ready to upgrade the main
internet xonnection box. I've got ipchains/portsentry/security
pretty well set up. Not ready for iptables(filter?) yet. Feedback is
appreciated.
