Subject: Advice needed on which distribution, method of download.
Mandrake 8.1 is fine for your programming aspirations. Really, it doesn't
matter (to me anyway) which distribution is used after it's setup.
Once Linux is installed, it's all pretty much the same (this is a very
good thing).
