Assuming you're running a G450 (like the one running here on my desktop)
there are a couple of things you need to do. I don't remember seeing any
type of gui config tool, but I don't tend to look for such things by
default and might have missed it along the way. Nevertheless:
go to
http://www.matrox.com/mga/support/drivers/files/linux_09.cfm
and pick up the beta linux driver. You'll find it quite stable, actually.
There is also a pointer to a readme.txt file, that explains how to install
the driver and then startup X using xinerama.
You need to double the "Monitor" and "Device" sections in your XF86Config
file. If this turns out to be difficult, I can send you a copy of my
running config file off list.
I've had my config running since last spring, and will never willingly
return to doing development work on a single monitor system again. It has
never crashed, and has always worked quite well.
