What if you changed the format slightly...

Cap discussion time at beginning of meeting to only be announcements of
other meetings and any PLUG related stuff.

7:00 - 7:10 announcements & ticket taking (to allow for scragglers)
7:10 - 8:00 presentation (cap at MAX of 50 minutes)
8:00 - 8:30 open discussion (like what is current at beginning of meeting)
8:30 - 9:00 newbie help & general chit chat

The 8:00 to 9:00 time slot would then be very flexible to what the
audience is, if its all old timers it can be just general BS, if its
mostly newbies it could be installfest etc.

The big problem is they are not 'searchable'. It would be great if
someone used htdig or found a project that is making mailman list archives
searchable and institute it at plug. I also agree victories as well
problems should be posted. Odds are if you weren't sure how to do it,
someone else on the list is in the same boat only they arent asking for
help.
