moin, moin,
this month's ASULUG meeting will be covering gpg.
Next month will be crytptography.
The meeting is this coming Wed at 18:00 in the Computing Commons auditorium.
See the ASULUG website,
http://ASULUG.asu.edu/, for directions, etc.
Here's a description rom Austin who's doing the presentation:
###
One Liner: An ASULUG presentation on PGP/GnuPG will include tips on how
to use these cryptographic tools and relevant background information.
GnuPG and Personal Communications
A brief introduction to cryptography will be presented, including symmetric
and asymmetric cryptosystems and their uses. This may also include a
brief history of PGP, GPG, and OpenPGP. GPG usage, configuration and
key management will be the the main focus. Time permitting, I will also
include some discussion of trust relationships, compatability and client
incorporation.
I will also be organizing a keysigning party for the same date. This
requires all of those who are interested in participating to do a few
things. Briefly you will need to download and install GPG 1.0.6, create
a key, submit public key to a keyserver, bring ID to meeting. Complete
instructions are available at:
http://www.public.asu.edu/~auasg/gpg/ Also be
looking for an announcment on the ASULUG list.
