nimba & squid

I was just reading the article at incidents.org about nimba
and they say it appears that when you connect to an infected
web server (via your browser) it will attempt to download
a file called 'readme.eml'.

My question is: Is there a way to block certain file extensions
from being downloaded through our proxy (Squid)?
