Subject: Maximum swap partition sizes
Does anyone know what the maximum recommended size that swap partitions can
be? I was looking in an Oracle install manual and it wanted as much as 2GB
which seems like extreme overkill for a Linux server. In addition, I had
heard that Linux could handle a maximum of 1GB in the swap partition but I
haven't seen any documentation on this. Does anyone know conclusively how
big a swap partition can be under Linux?

Thanks,
