Open eterm and type 'java' if nothing happens, konq. won't work.
Try creating a symlink from (guessing here, wherever your java is)
ln -s /usr/lib/java/jre/bin/java /usr/bin/java
Then when you type java it should pop something on the screen. Then restart
konq, and make sure everything is enabled and where it asks where your java
is, just type java in it.
