X can be a bear on any system. It's not exactly the most elegant peice of
software ever. apt-get usually does get it right. Big upgrades are usually
where the bugs come out of the woodwork.
Admittedly, one of Debian's weakest areas, IMO, is getting the initial
desktop setup for X use. But once you do..... bliss. :)

sheesh - getting Debian installed incites a a victory speech reminiscent
of the Oscar awards...doesn't exactly impress me of the ease of use of
apt-get
