I often wonder about the propensity of folks who love to discount (as in kmart) tools that many of us find to be quite productive (as in
more $$ per hr worked). Last time I checked, there aren't too many people offering free (as in speech) rent or no-cost (as in rain
water) mortgages. I have yet to get the mortgage people to let me skip a payment by merely speaking to them on the phone. I guess they
figure my speech REALLY IS free. Nope, they want my money, darnit.
If you don't net out more than $10/hr for your programming time, then Delphi and Kylix are probably too expensive (as in cavier) for
your tastes. Stick to the free (as in speech) stuff.
With all that free (as in speech) code (and coding time) these folks give away, how DO they pay for rent and groceries, anyway?
