Debian HELP!!

Okay so I got Debain installed but I can't get the X server to start...

When I run dselect and download the Mach64 server and run the XF86Setup...
it runs in graphics mode fine.

I select ATI Generic 128, the Monitor I have and the Modes and done!

It says atemting to Start Server and then...
