David,

I suspect that you are not using X86Free-4
I cannot locate any suitable .Xdefaults or .X11defaults
cd /root - then - ls -al will return (amont other things)
-rw------- 1 root root 112 Jul 2 21:26 .Xauthority
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 188 May 27 19:21 .Xclients
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 52 May 27 19:21
.Xclients-default
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1126 Aug 23 1995 .Xresources
(.Xclients-default has the big - startkde)
and
cd /etc/X11 - then - ls -al will return (among other things)

Nothing looking like something I can hang your little fix for functional
wheel on Netscape. :-(
I'm gonna have to keep working my fingers to the bone clicking on scroll
bars I guess.
I think you need to invest in some new Pentium 3 or 4 iron so you can
provide support on latest RedHat stuff. Of course, I'm not offering to
subsidize it though.
