I have been buying hardware for the last 10 years, but
I hve only seen RAM failures recently. During one
failure, the server just locked up and upon reboot did
not recognize one of the SDRAMs. In the other case,
the RAM was flacky and my installation of Linux failed
constantly. It was almost impossible to point to RAM,
but when I removed that SDRAM, the installation went
well and the machine is working.
I would say, check the RAM for unexplainable behavior.
