Hi Craig, I read an article recently that not only gives a discussion of
what you are suggesting below, but also maps out a stategy for implementing
it. Have the magazine at home, and could send you the article but I will be
out of town for about 2 weeks. It was one of several articles in this issue
relating to linux in 3rd world countries. If you want the article, email me
off list and I'll get it to you upon my return. I wish I could remeber what
