Routers

I decided just to end up calling D-Link Tech support, and this is what they
told me;

1) I need to have one end plugged into the modem.
2) It will not effect the real ips.
3) If the router goes down, everyone will be down :(

Then I asked him how often it goes down, and he said his goes down about 2
or 3 times a week. That scares me.
