no access to floppy or zip

su to root

mount /mnt/floppy
ls /mnt/floppy

you can edit /etc/fstab floppy if you want other users to be able to mount a
floppy...

/dev/fd0        /mnt/floppy     auto     user,owner,exec,dev,suid,rw,noauto 0 0

note -- user
