crontab for FreeBSD

Okay yet another stupid newbie question. I've gotten too used
to/etc/cron.hourly it seems. Now I'm on a FreeBSD box and I can't seem
to get a cron job to run hourly.

I tried crontab -e

then

0 * * * * ./filename


only that doesn't seem to be working what am I doing wrong?
