GNU Enterprise is my baby, so I will clarify. We plan on doing own
accounting stuff.
HOWEVER, I speak with Linas (GNU Cash Lead) regularly. They have now
abstracted their ledgering enough that we could write a wrapper around it
in our application server and open its methods to our UI and biz objects.
It was proposed this might be a 'quick' solution to get business
accounting done quicker. It is still an 'option'.
We have had the fortune of having Bombardier's CFO who recently retired,
approach us and offer to fully spec out all the requirements for
accounting package and keep us in line. Which is wonderful. We have
several CPA's that advise us, but none with the saavy of Louis.
We have two companies using GNU Enterprise currently, both of which are
pushing the progress at a heatlhy rate. (Enough advertising now)
All in all GNU\Linux needs something in this space.
