catching up in some seldom travelled mailboxen...

Last week debian released 2.2r3, e.g. the 3rd update to 'potato'. I don't
think this would quite be the same as a point release for other dists, but
it almost is :).

Security fixes can be installed regardless of dist updates by adding the
following line to your sources.list:

deb http://security.debian.org/ stable/updates main contrib non-free

Another piece of mail gave the URL[1] to a page with info on how to get
2.4.x including reiserfs working on a 'potato' box.

The third revision of Debian GNU/Linux 2.2 (nickname `potato') has
been released. This point release, version 2.2r3, mostly includes
security updates, along with a few corrections to important bugs in
the stable distribution.

Upgrading to this revision online can be done by pointing the `apt'
package tool (see sources.list(5) manual page) to one of Debian's many
FTP mirrors. A list is available at:
