SuSE 7.1 and blinking cursor

Hi,

    I am having a hard time trying to get my ATI Xpert2000 card to work
under SuSE7.1. But my main question is, how do I get my cursor to blink?
Right now I don't even get a cursor, and it's driving me nuts.
