I have just that setup... and they do block ports. Enraged me when they
just 'did it' one day without any notice.
Speed on the vdsl rocks.

Subject: Qwest and Linux - info needed

I'm moving where Qwest offers 1024K DSL up/down (Choice OnLine). They
state the only requirement is that the computer have a NIC. I guess it
plugs into their Digital Gateway, which is the DSL modem/Digital
TV/Phone
box.

My question: Does anyone have this set up, and if so, does Qwest filter
any ports that would prevent me from running my own Web/Mail servers?
Or do they perform port scans looking for this activity?

Thanks.

George
