I probably wouldn't even notice an earring these days (depending on the
ring), but if someone opens up a dialog with "and the earring STAYS!" I'd be
more concerned about the individual's priorities.

Don't you have to be in a job to file a sexual harassment suit? Would
dresscode fit under that -- unless they were asking one to wear a sexy
skirt?
