Subject: debian gets wierd dependencies, it seems
moin, moin,

spliff:/home/lufthans# apt-test --purge remove jed-common
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
The following extra packages will be installed:
libc6 libc6-dev libfreetype6 locales xfree86-common
The following packages will be REMOVED:
jed* jed-common* jed-sl* xjed*
The following NEW packages will be installed:
libfreetype6
4 packages upgraded, 1 newly installed, 4 to remove and 239 not upgraded.
Need to get 9106kB of archives. After unpacking 8013kB will be freed.
Do you want to continue? [Y/n] n

Why would it need to upgrade libc to remove a package?

Guess that's why they call it testing :).

ciao,
