\_ I am trying to remain linux based since every bit that I do (and some of it
\_ like the need to install DATA::ShowTable to make DBI::DBD module work was a
\_ necessary but time consuming lesson.

if you use the cpan shell, it should warn you of these thigns.

perl -MCPAN -e shell

Also, the module should have been well enough behaved to cough and
spit during the config process to warn you of missing dependencies.
