The Linux Proffessional Institute offers two respected and sought after
credentials.
All you have to do is pass the test.

They have many testing centers in the Phoenix area

Including (shock!) ManPower Professional as well as many universities
etc.

The best way IMHO is to find a mentor to help you learn, besides the
usual participation in lists and user groups like this.
