I'm not trying to do any advertising here; I'm just a long-time lurker who just happens to do network stuff for Honeywell. Here's some info on a open house slash hiring event looking for - among other things - software engineers and sw quality engineers. I haven't managed to find the appropriate website for it yet, but here's the info transcribed:
What: Honeywell SSO (Satellite Systems Operations) Open House Hiring Event.
Who: Engineers meeting requirements listed below that are external candidates or have been invited in to visit via the SSO Referral Program.
When: Today, 1/31/01 3-8pm
Where: Honeywell SSO, 19019 N 59th Ave, Glendale. N/E Corner of 59th ave and Union Hills Drive (take 101 to 59th and go south past orange grove, and hang a left).
Why: SSO Engineering Dept. to meet, screen, interview, and hire talented entry-level and experienced degreed engineers for the following positions:
- Software Engineers (C/C++, Ada in Unix & VAX/VMS environments/platforms)
- Hardware/Mechanical Engineers (Bearing/Rotating machinery experience)
- Vibration Analysis/Controls Engineers (NASTRAN/MatLab)
- Software Quality Engineers (Test/Verification)
There will be food and hourly raffle prizes (which include voodoo 3 graphic cards, Palm IIIc's, and CDRW's).

Unofficial part from the poster: This place makes everything from gimble units, to rotationally based satellite movement assemblies, to updated displays for the shuttle. We have people involved with projects for the ISS, space shuttle, and various satellite projects. I can't tell you what the pay or work might be like, but I do know that they're looking for something like 80 software and sw qual engineers. FYI.
