Tried using the gnome menu editor? Removing run from their menus
should do the trick. In GMC I don't know... it may require some
hacking on the source to actually make it go away.

As far as limiting access to other directories... The most you can do
is change the permissions on those you don't want them to access. If
you remove the executable bit on directories they are no longer able
to list the files within. You just have to be careful on what you
limit them to.

I'd suggest taking a look at the kiosk-HOWTO (I believe that's what
it's called.) on linuxdoc.org

How would I stop anyone from accessing run from the panel and from
gmc(file
manager) in gnome. Also is there a way so that when they access gmc
they can
not go up a level to see anything else besides their own home
