I love XMMS... matter of fact it's playing a 30-song playlist for me right now. *grin*
I typically install it from RPM, so I haven't encountered the compiling issues you've run into.
If it would just stop hanging around after I close it, it would be great. 9 out of 10 times
when I log out of gnome xmms has like 5 processes hanging around.
