I guess the situation take totally different
angle when I have noticed I got the USB kind.
More precisely (Visor from Mindspring).
I am guessing the regular serial port is out of the question at
this time.
I have looked at some of the linux-USB (visor) websites and
I guess I can try to patch my kernel. Although it looks like
the kernel is seeing the USB interface on my box:
