I'm new to this group and I hope someone can help me.
I installed a copy of RH 7.0 because I thought this contained all =
packages necessary for a dual monitor. =20

I can start gnome with startx but when I logout out of gnome to CLI I =
get a warning that states: =20
Xlib: extension "XINERAMA" missing on display ":0.0".

the command XFree86 -version returns
XFree86 Version 4.0.01a /X Window System
...

But, the command X -version returns
XFree86 Version 3.3.6 / X Window System
...

The Xinerama how to dated Nov2 2000 does not seem to clarify.

When I try to start gnome with startx -- +xinerama I just get a page =
listing what appears to be startx options.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks
cliff kirkham
