In light of the lab.attack discussed, one would need to wipe a disk
surface a number of times with somewhat random data - furthermore, in
a somewhat random access pattern, to maximize the chances of hitting
all the tracking variations possible.
Is it possible to position the heads of a modern hard disc at "half
tracks" and "quarter tracks" the way it was to position the heads of a
floppy disk, ages ago?
