Subject: linux seems slow
Star Office is mainly Java ... that means it has to translate the byte code
through the JVM (this applies to both MS and any other OS) which makes it
slow to start.... I'd *really* like to see a non-java version of a MS Office
equivelent [1].

You think Netscape takes a while to start because there is no splash screen
in linux... MS has a splash screen for you to look at while it loads. It's
all smoke and mirrors. In reality, it's about the same (I havn't actually
timed it).

[1] - yes, I know Star Office isn't all Java
