I had different, but similar problems installing Mandrake 7 on an Cyrix
machine of mine. I finally just took the HD out and used it as the primary
in another machine. After the install, but before the first real boot, I
took the HD out and put it back in my old machine. It booted up fine and
started auto-detecting my devices.
The Mandrake box says it must have 32 megs to install, which I didn't
have. I think that was the problem, but I don't know for sure. RH may
have the same problem.
