\_ Hey, all this philosophy has been great reading. It's obviously not a
\_ popular idea to filter incoming content. So to summarize, someone who needs
\_ to accomplish this unpopular task must buy a commercial product.

No, there are solutions to anything, as a BOFH would say, picking up
his 110v to cat5 adapter. You can filter, it's just that a lot of
folks don't think it's the best/only answer. :-)

You could always make an extensive /etc/hosts file and put in many
hosts that you don't like and have them resolve to your box.... I
block about 90% of ad banners on my frequent pages that way. (Plus,
as an added bonus, I get sound affects when ads are shot down....)

Ads blocked also show up in error log after proper application of grep, sort,
uniq, and cut:
