\_ If you're getting a host not found error, the problem is either you have not
\_ provided a valid server name, or your DNS is not properly configured.

Yeah, what Mike said. As for formal clients, grab fetchmail and let
fetchmail dump it it in your local queue. Although, many mail readers
should support it natively.
