when trying to locate file and directory size problems:
du -sh * <enter>
is your friend. first cd to / and run this
it will show you what directories are takeing
up the space. if you find a large directory that
doesnt seem it should be that large cd into it
and run du -sh * again.
You can ignor a large /proc directory because
it is actually a virtual directory and takes no
space on the hard drive.
