I'm not Joel, but...

OpenBSD is arguably the most secure OS out there. Built-in encryption
(they can do that, they're Canadians), and most services are disabled
by default, as opposed to most Linux distros. BSD kernel, which is
considered by many to be a better kernel than Linux. Most programs in
the *BSDs are licensed under the BSD license, which gives even more
freedom than the GNU GPL.

Other than that, harder to install, harder to use, less commercial
support, fewer binaries available (so more compiling), etc.

I guess it depends on your priorities.
