\_ I.e., each "drive" (filesystem) gets its own "current directory",
I'm actually familiar with that nit, and I crush it ruthlessly
whenever I can. If I wanted a dir stack, I would have used pushd &
popd. :-)
Never mind the nit about the lousy slashes pointing the wrong way in
my examples....
