I am trying to situate my Mitsumi CD-4801TE CD-RW ATAPI/IDE device on
SuSE 6.3. I have followed the CD-Writing HOWTO, and have looked up
everything I can in the SuSE support DB, to no avail. Can someone give
me a hand?
This is what I've got so far:
in modules.conf:
--------------------
options ide-cd ignore=hdc #tell ide-cd module to ignore hdc
alias scd0 sr_mod #load sr_mod upon access of scd0
pre-install sg modprobe ide-scsi #load ide-scsi before sg
pre-install sr_mod modprobe ide-scsi #load ide-scsi before sr_mod
pre-install ide-scsi modprobe ide-cd #load ide-cd before ide-scsi
alias scsi_hostadapter ide-scsi
when I lsmod:
--------------------
Module Size Used by
sg 11764 0 (autoclean) (unused)
es1371 25888 1 (autoclean)
soundcore 2340 4 (autoclean) [es1371]
via-rhine 9168 1 (autoclean)
serial 42932 0 (autoclean)
memstat 1604 0 (unused)
sr_mod 16652 0 (autoclean) (unused)
ide-scsi 7240 0
ide-cd 23852 0
nls_iso8859-1 2236 4 (autoclean)
when I run cdrecord:
-----------------------
Cdrecord release 1.8a30 Copyright (C) 1995-1999 Jörg Schilling
cdrecord: No such file or directory. Cannot open SCSI driver.
bash-2.03#
Is there anything else I can do?
Thanks
