is sprint broadband worth it now?

I found out that sprint is once again installing broadband services. I know
that speedchoice was bad, but has the upgrades that sprint implemented made
this service worth-while. They are advertising speeds of 5meg down/ 256K up.
Can anyone give me any information as to the real speeds, and especially the
latency ?
