FrontPage problem

Has anyone ever played with FrontPage extensions for Unix? I've got them up
and running and can use Front Page to modify web pages but I can't get the
security to work. It just lets anyone in. I found a site that documented a
problem. Something about changing AllowOverride to ALL instead of None in
the access.conf file. I did that but it didn't change a thing except
possibly compromised some security in apache. Does anyone have some insight
on this?
