I do look around. Every other billboard seems to be
for an IT pimp these days. I wonder why that is. :)

The way I see it, the difference is that if, say, H.A.L.
hires a mainframe service tech for a 50k salary, sends
him on-site, and bills a customer for, say, 150 an hour,
I can understand it because H.A.L. provides a LOT of value
in terms of infrastructure (documentation, warehouses around
the country full of parts waiting to be overnighted, communications,
ancillary personnel, yada yada yada) to the process--infrastructure
without which the service tech could not function.
Compare this to the infrastructure of a pimp: two fax machines.
