new video card problems--mouse cursor becomes a box?

Oggetto: new video card problems--mouse cursor becomes a box?
Okay, now I have the X server running and what looks to be configured
properly. My mouse is back to normal, however if I push a KDE button or
something else my mouse icon switches back to being a transparent box.
Does anyone know what this is?
