devices in /dev

How do I know which devices are mapped to which device in /dev? For
example, my ATAPI/IDE CD-ROM is the Secondary Slave, while my
CR-4802TE(Mitsumi CD-RW) is my secondary Master. Would be burner be hdc
and the cd-rom hdd? My two hard drives take up hda and hdb, that I know,
but I'm a little lost on the IDE devices.
