After much frustration and travail ... partially solved ...

Recently (June 11, 2014), I submitted this question:

----------

After most of two weeks struggling with this, I finally got the subject
printer set up and working as a wireless printer on my network.

However ... I still do not understand how to get it to work with other
computers and devices on my network.

On one of my Linux laptops, when I go to System Settings >> Printers >>
Add Printer >> under "Discovered Network Printers" I see two entries:

Brother Laser Printer @ leno (Brother Brother DCP-1200
and
Brother HL-2270DW series (Brother HL-2270DW series)

I don't know how the first one (DCP-1200) got there, but I assume that I
need to remove it because it is not a valid printer on my system. So what
is the procedure to remove an invalid printer?

The second item, HL-2270DW, is valid; but the following two screen shots
show what I see when I click on that second item:

- - http://www.upquick.com/temp/print2add.jpg ... I can enter
the IP address, but what should I enter in the "Queue" field?

- - http://www.upquick.com/temp/print3add.jpg ... and, none of
the drivers listed seem to match my printer model.
-- OR, should I just select one of the several CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.9
drivers?
-- Or what is a PPD File? and where would I find an appropriate PPD file
to enter in that field?

Surely this should not have to be this convoluted and confusing ...
